OUTFIT | Sunday Afternoon

Let's talk lazy sunday afternoons. I hope you all enjoyed the long easter weekend, I must confess I didn't do much with easter, I decided a long time ago that egg searching is not my forte but least I got to chance to chill and fully charge for another exiting week. To start of this short week I wanted to show my casual chic outfit, something I like to wear when it's typical dutch weather. Practical yet fashionable,  oh how we love that combination here in Holland. Although these shoes are seriously making me crave some Barcelona sun, I felt pretty blessed when de sun was shining the whole day during easter. What did you do with easter?

NEW IN | Meyba White Sneakers

All Photo's by My Ducth Fashion Style
Oh how I love my sneakers. This time I have the pleasure to add white Meyba sneakers to my shoe collection, about time I say since the last pair of white sneakers I bought is now already 1 year old. The pair BORN pair I received is from Spanish brand Meyba, a sportswearbrand some of you may know if you’re into soccer. Founded in the 40’s,  Meyba is all about the Rich vintage heritage, high quality and sun kissed colours. A great example of all that is their Brand Movie.

OUTFIT | Black Mickey Contradiction

It’s time for an outfit post inspired by a contradiction many fashionista’s face when buying cute looking clothes while still trying to keep an eye on sustainability. The contradiction between looking good while buying polluting clothes is one that inspired this outfit post. As much as I adore this Mickey Mouse sweater, I did feel guilty buying it from ‘not-so-sustainable’ retail chain Primark.

PREVIEW | Black Mickey Contradiction

Before I share my latest outfit post with you, I wanted to tease you just a little with this amazing sweater I found in -hold your breath, Primark.  while raising a topic. Even tough the idea of fast fashion  is repelling and Primark would be one of the first retailers on my 'Never to Buy' list, I just couldn't resist this Black and White Mickey sweater. As this on going battle between sustainable shopping and wanting to looking fashionable for a reasonable price is one that is constantly there, the decision to buy this sweater wasn't an easy one. In my opinion it's not bad to buy those kind of clothes, yet you do have to be aware of what you're buying and the quantities and qualities. As it is only one sweater I bought, (it was also the last one in the rack) and I plan on wearing it often, I allowed myself to purchase this fashion guilty pleasure. This sweater for example is made of 100% cotton which makes it easier to recycle when time has come to do so. Maybe the tought of Primark joining the 5 Step Detox Programme was some how too soothing to my inner battle. It may not be the best purchase for helping the inviroment, yet it was a conscious purchase and I can justify it. What are your thoughts on this topic?
